Commercial signage, Restoration and Reinstatement
TYPE:
Brussels, Belgium
LOCATION:
Completed
STATUS:

As part of abroader urban revitalization initiative, Rue des Éperonniers — located just steps from the Grand-Place, within the UNESCO-listed heritage zone — became the subject of a visual identity redesign.

The project involved installing a series of nearly identical signs, based on a historical model. Several variations were developed from this original design, withcareful attention to maintaining its aesthetic character, in order to create acohesive visual rhythm throughout the street.

This intervention had a dual objective: on the one hand, to unify the perpendicular signage andstrengthen the architectural coherence of the streetscape; on the other hand, to breathe new life into a street that, despite its central location, had become somewhat overlooked. By reestablishing a strong identity, the aim was tomake the street more attractive, welcoming, and vibrant — in line with the prestige of its surroundings.

This effortaligns with a broader vision of heritage enhancement while addressing contemporary needs for urban vitality and spatial quality.
