This project involves the roof extension of a traditional Brussels family house. The intervention embraces a contemporary architectural language while respecting the identity and proportions of the existing building.

The extension is defined by a soft, organic geometry. Its curved volume, reminiscent of a dome, naturally extends to form a large metal canopy that shelters the recessed front terrace. As a result, the new volume remains almost invisible from the street, preserving the character of both the streetscape and the original architecture.

Inside, the curved roof creates a fluid and embracing space. The generous glazed facade floods the attic with natural light and establishes a strong connection with the terrace, offering a new way of inhabiting the roof space.
