Located in the Sablon district, this family home has been reimagined to house three dwellings of varying typologies, while respecting its architectural identity. Thanks to its generous volumes, the building now contains a duplex, a two-bedroom apartment, and a loft — each with its own gardenor terrace.
The central challenge was balancing the preservation of original features —moldings, fireplaces, parquet flooring, tiling, and woodwork —with contemporary uses. The ground floor, typical of a Brussels town house, has been preserved in its entirety up to the winter garden.
At the rear, the annexes were replaced by a compact extension consolidating specific functions: a private staircase for the duplex, a kitchen for the apartment, and a terrace for the loft. This new vertical volume, with its clean contemporary architecture, forms the heart of the project —a seamless link between past and present.
